Account Manager

Job Title:            Account Manager
Reports To:        Sales Director

Purpose: To actively sell ASAP to meet the business and technology needs of existing customers and manage the relationship between ASAP and those customers to maximise revenue and maintain and build customer satisfaction.

Activities: The role holder will be required to be accountable for any combination of the following activities:

Activity

Description and key performance indicators

Planning Business

Develop tactical or strategic sales plans to agreed standard. Review and report on sales activity using standard reporting procedures. Agree sales plans with Sales Director.

Building Relationships

Build and develop relationships with key players, influencers and decision-makers in target customers and with external consultants by establishing market credibility. Operate at senior managerial and strategic level. Meet account plan and territory actions.

Identifying Opportunities

Identify opportunities for new business in short and longer term by understanding ASAP activity in target customer sector; customers’ business; ASAP and third-party capabilities; competitor capabilities and activities. Success demonstrated by order value/margin (ordered), and funnel size: type and quality.

Qualifying Business

Lead qualification process. Understand how needs of customer, match with ASAP and third party capabilities. Assess associated risks to and value delivered for ASAP. Adhere to business approval process guidelines.

Owning Objectives

Lead bid process providing customer focus throughout. In larger, high-risk bids, take accountability for bid submission and success. Manage process in smaller, low risk bids. Success demonstrated by bid procedures and business approval process.

Negotiating Contracts

Take ownership for meeting objectives of the sales plan. Gain commitment from customer and from ASAP and/or third party. Achieve targets.
